Our parish is a wonderful mix of young and old. Whether a 2 year old or a 92 year old or anyone in-between, we are called to be open to new insight, new experiences, new growth. To that challenge, we offer faith formation at all age levels. Our formation, our learning, our conversion is a life-long journey, and the formation events at St. Margaret Mary reflect this beautiful truth.
In our life of formation here at SMM, We Value:
- The formation of our parents and all adults as a primary task of the parish, since without strong adult formation, our children suffer.
- The call of adult and young adult baptized and confirmed members to lead and to teach children and adults.
- The active participation of parents with children in faith formation as co-learners with their children, and as the primary teachers to their children in the ways of faith.
- Good faith formation leads to a deeper relationship with Jesus Christ. The goal of our formation opportunities at SMM is not the mere gathering of more information, but a deeper relationship with the living God.
We are all in a life long process of growing in our faith. We strive to provide opportunities to grow in understanding the Scriptures, develop a prayer life, give background in the essentials of our faith and integrate faith into daily life. Volunteer catechists lead groups of children in weekly formation, and also work with parents to nurture faith in the home. Three times a year we have a Faith Festival where all ages come to form community and to learn together.
